Have you seen the new Bertolli frozen items available at Kroger? I love fixing Italian meals for my family so I’m always trying to find new Italian foods to serve. I honestly believe we could eat Italian meals every night. With the taste of Italy in mind, I recently went shopping at Kroger to check out the new Bertolli Italian meals. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the mouthwatering varieties. Just as surprising was the fact that these meals are so affordable.

Shopping at Kroger is always a treat. Kroger is one of my favorite grocery stores because everyone is always helpful. Such as the below gentleman who introduced me to all of the new Bertolli items. I was looking over my shopping list and he asked if he could be of assistance and he was indeed very helpful. I just had to snap his photo in appreciation. I could tell he’s really proud of the new Bertolli Italian meals he’d displayed.

I had a hard time choosing between the Bertolli Chicken Carbonara, Bertolli Chicken Florentine, Bertolli Italian Sausage, Bertolli Chicken Parm Bakes and the Bertolli Lasagna. As you can tell by the names of these Italian meals, Bertolli went to great lengths to make each meal special. The flavors really will make you think you are in Italy eating at one of the finest Italian restaurants. That’s why I think these new Bertolli Italian meals would make the perfect choice for any occasion or no occasion at all. I happen to think that life in itself is a special occasion. Every day is a gift and a reason to surround myself with things that I love. Like Shabby Chic decor. I always take the extra time to make my table presentable for company and myself because it’s a lot of fun to eat at a table with chic and shabby, linens and candles.

I’m rambling. I do that when I get excited about something and I’m excited about Bertolli.

Back to my decision.

After about 5 minutes, I finally made up my mind on which meal I’d like to try first. Want to know what I chose?

For my first Bertolli meal, I chose …………..

Bertolli Chicken Florentine: grilled chicken, spinach, and pasta in a white wine sauce. Being able to enjoy this authentic Italian entree in the comfort of my own home was an exciting experience.

TIP: Suggested Wine Pairing – Pinot Grigio

From start to finish, I had a very special meal quicker than any I’ve prepared for, in a while, and that’s including baking my bread bowls (I use all natural white Telera rolls) for the salad and washing/drying my fruits and veggies. Clean up afterward was a breeze. 1 skillet versus multiple pans is the ideal way to cook. Can you see how Bertolli Italian meals would make the perfect choice for date night and even Valentine’s Day coming up? Less time in the kitchen means more time to cuddle.

I invited my daughter Tiffany to help me sample the goods. We share a love of all things Italian. And when it comes to Italian, we don’t just eat, we Mangia. She popped in after work and she and I had our fill. We moaned and groaned as we ate each savory bite. The Bertolli Chicken Florentine was that good. There was enough left over from dinner for leftovers the next day. I think one meal could easily serve two adults and a child or two even though the meals state it feeds two (or maybe we are just light eaters, although you wouldn’t have thought so from the way we devoured our meal).

Food preparation:

The first thing I did was bake our bread bowls. I let them cool off about an hour before I washed my fruits and veggies for our salad. I then started my Chicken Florentine (which only took 10 minutes to complete). While it was heating in my frying pan, I cut out the tops of my bread rolls to form a bread bowl for our salad with my… ah hum… world famous “Fresh Blackberry, Raspberry, Cranberry Vinaigrette Dressing” Recipe. It’s the perfect consistency to be considered a dressing. Fair warning, it doesn’t matter how much you put on your salad, it’s addictive and you’ll want more. I’ll let you borrow my recipe to try it for yourself. Please make it as is because I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the taste. You’re welcome.
