I joined a meal delivery service called Home Chef. Every week I get to select new meals that I want to try and they send me everything I need to fix the meals from the meat, veggies right down to all of the scrumptious sauces I’ve been trying. All of the meals call for Olive Oil but this time I decided to use Avocado Oil instead. I received some in the mail this week and I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to try it. I’ve been hearing great things about this healthy, tasty and versatile alternative to other cooking oils so it was time for me to try it for myself. I started with a delicious Fig-Glazed Pork Tenderloin that I served with roasted Brussels sprouts and carrots. But let me get back to the CalPure™ California Extra Virgin Avocado Oil. It was so delicious, Alyssa and I scarfed down our meal in less time than it took for me to take photos, lol.

I started by searing my pork loin on 3 sides in hot Avocado Oil. I added a little salt and pepper but kept it simple. While that was cooking, I roasted some carrots, Brussels sprouts and scallions which I drizzled with Avocado Oil as well. At this point, my home was starting to smell amazing and Alyssa and I were ready for our meal to be done. It didn’t take long to cook it but when we were smelling the delicious aromas, it seemed like an eternity. I’ve been told that in addition to a delicious, buttery taste which I can absolutely vouch for, CalPure is also naturally gluten-free, sodium-free, and high in cholesterol-lowering beta-sitosterol.   1. This is the first time that I’m hearing an avocado oil and I’m definitely interested. I think it’s a healthy alternative to vegetable oil. It’s definitely worth a try!

  2. My stomach is growling now after reading this. Absolutely beautiful plate and the oil looks like something my husband needs to get for the kitchen!
