I chose nursing as my career because I love taking care of people. I knew from the beginning that I didn’t just want to help our patients recover from illness, I also wanted to help them learn preventive measures. I knew that teaching them healthier options would help them live longer lives. When I decided to become a stay at home mom, I knew I wanted to start a blog to continue voicing my beliefs on health and wellness.
A big part of that starts with the foods we eat. Not just the meals, but our snacks as well, or maybe more so when it comes to snacks. I’ve promoted healthy snack options for green moms like yourselves and today I have another brand I’d like to share with you. HIPPEAS (what a hip name, eh?) which are organic chickpea puffs. They come in a variety of flavors including one of my favorites, bohemian barbeque (I equally love the vegan white cheddar as does Tyler).
We love to travel and even though school has started back, we try to travel as often as possible on the weekends, and I can’t think of a better product to take along for snacking than HIPPEAS. They’re crunchy, fun, flavorful and healthy. When I first decided to replace the kids Cheetos with HIPPEAS, I filled up some Ziploc bags with their new crunchy snack and packed them in the car. I didn’t say anything about the switch (yes I’m sly like that) and when the kids started complaining “are we there yet” I handed them the Ziploc bags of the “alternative Cheetos.” Before long they were crunching in each other’s ears, laughing and the switch was made. Just. Like. That. From there, they started going into the kid’s bookbags for after-school activities.
When the younger kids are old enough to understand what being healthy means, I plan to tell them how this boho hippy helped them became modern-day HIPPEAS by switching their Cheetos for a healthy alternative. I’ll also tell them how their new favorite gluten-free, vegan, organic and are packed with 3 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein, per serving. But for now, I feel good in knowing that I’m steering them in the right direction health-wise. Tyler already knows how healthy these are and because he is sergeant first class in JR. ROTC and he chooses to eat healthy so even before he tried HIPPEAS, he read everything there was to read about them. He has big plans for his future and he knows that living healthy now is going to help him later in life.
If you’re ready to embark on a peas-ful snacking revolution with me, HIPPEAS are sold at more than 30,000 retail locations across the U.S. such as Starbucks, Whole Foods, Wegmans, Stop & Shop, Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, CVS, Thrive Market & Amazon.com.
Follow HIPPEAS on Instagram and upload your HIPPEAS snack photos using hashtags #HIPPEAS #ImAHippea.
