Recently, Abby decided she wanted to melt some marshmallows to put in her hot cocoa. I told her to go ahead and do that in the microwave because I taught her how to use one and I didn’t see what harm could be done with turning on a microwave. She knows she’s not allowed to remove anything from the microwave, that’s my job. Well, I was cooking, not really paying attention to her marshmallows, until I heard a loud pop. It scared us both to death, let me tell you. Apparently, she thought it would be a good idea to melt the marshmallows in a jar with a lid. This did not turn out well.
My microwave is no more, may it R.I.P. marshmallows and all.
I didn’t stress. Material things can be replaced. I was just glad that no one was injured because that jar blew the top off which blew the door open. Imagine ooey gooey melted marshmallows in every area imaginable. I knew sooner or later I’d either decide to buy a microwave to replace it, or I’d find another solution (preferably another solution until she’s at least 100 Y.O.). I didn’t want her to feel bad about it because we learn from our mistakes and if we never make any, what’s to learn? So, I laughed it off. She’s 9 and gets her feelings hurt easily.
Fast forward a month and along came a solution and let me just say, you and I both can move over the microwave because there’s a brand-new innovation that cooks meals and holds food warm. And in walks the HotLogic Mini & HotLogic Casserole Size.
These products are so nifty, I wanted to share them with you before you start your holiday shopping. They’re perfect for college students, the traveler because cooking meals from a hotel room just got easier, for those who eat at their desk, for someone who wants an alternative to a microwave, and just about anyone you know. This is one of those inventions where the possibilities are endless. You can even use the mini in your car. Crazy convenient, eh?
I’m home alone during the day and I always freeze leftovers so I can just take them out of the freezer, heat them up and lunch is served. You can use cardboard, metal, plastic, and glass in the HotLogic products along with any dishwasher/microwave safe dishes you have. Which means you don’t have to go out and buy new dishes.
After reading the instructions, I made some chili and then froze some chili because I wanted to see how it works before heading out on vacation with it.
Things to note. You can heat up leftovers as well as cook frozen meals and you can even cook from scratch in the HotLogic products. It takes 1 hour for cold foods and 2 hours for frozen. Because these products don’t burn your food, you can leave them on for up to 12 hours to keep your food hot. That’s perfect if you want to start a dish when you wake up to serve for supper.
I’m leaving on a 3-day trip next week and I’m taking my HotLogic products with me. I don’t have a kitchenette in the Inn I’m staying at because I was going for inexpensive when I booked my room. I’m taking my HotLogic mini to help save money on meals. The more I save, the more I can do. The more I can do, the happier I am. It will also be a great thing to have to heat up leftovers when I do eat out. I wish I had known about these on past trips but I’m glad to know about them now. Anytime I can save money when I travel means I have more money to put towards future trips. The casserole size is going to be fabulous to have along when I travel with a group or my family.
I bet you know someone on your shopping list who would love one or both of these. And maybe you would as well.
Which one of these would you get the most use out of?
