Urinary incontinence used to be a term that was just not uttered. Anywhere. It kind of felt like something everyone thought should be their little secret. Products for incontinence were never discussed openly among a crowd, and it was just something everyone had to live with. Those days are long gone and it’s something I talk about on a regular basis with my family, friends, and neighbors. The reason being is because some of them turn down opportunities, like I used to do, to travel and live life like it’s meant to be lived. I remember the first time I declined a trip to the Bahamas because several of us would be sharing a room and I didn’t want anyone to know that I had urinary incontinence. A lot has changed since then. That was the last time I let incontinence hold me back.
These days, I stock up on TENA intimates® when I’m shopping at CVS and I go on with my life without giving my urinary incontinence another thought.
I know how others feel when they’re trying to come to grips with incontinence, and I am here to tell you that life does not end with incontinence and more people have it than you realize. There are ways you can make your life more comfortable overnight and when you travel even with urinary incontinence. And it doesn’t require an enormous diaper looking product either. No one would guess that you even have on pads or overnight underwear because they’re now more discreet than ever. It wasn’t until I discovered TENA intimates® Overnight Underwear for urinary incontinence that my confidence shot up once again. TENA understands that we need triple protection form bladder leaks, odor, and moisture and they’ve made that their priority when designing TENA intimates® products. The fast absorption keeps skin fresh and dry by using ProSkin Technology™ which helps maintain your skin’s natural balance. If you’re looking for a product that helps protect your intimate skin, TENA intimates® are my preference.

Please see my tips below on how you can help manage urinary incontinence overnight. Let me start by saying that I take a shower before I go to bed. I feel fresh and when I go to bed feeling fresh, I wake up feeling fresh as well.
Tips to help manage urinary incontinence overnight:
- Buy protective underwear from a brand you can trust to help keep you dry with fast absorption. My suggestion: TENA intimates® Overnight Underwear
- Go to the bathroom and empty your bladder completely before you go to bed. I find that running water helps me. Go more than once if you can.
- Don’t drink beverages after a certain time especially beverages with caffeine. I struggle with this because I’ve always had a cup of coffee at bedtime, but limiting does help.
- Exercise can help some people with urinary incontinence so ask your doctor what exercises he recommends trying.
- I don’t have a water-proof underpad on my bed, but I have a friend who does and she says just having the confidence that her sheets will stay dry, helps her sleep batter.
I’d love to know if you have any tips that I should add to my list. If so, please let me know in the comments.
