The older I get, the more I cherish memories of my childhood as well as new memories I make. When I was a new mom, I didn’t take time for a skincare routine like I do now. There were kids to be fed, baths to be run, dinner to prepare and I don’t need to tell you everything that has to be done when one is a parent. I’d give anything to go back and do a lot of things differently than I do now and this is one of them. I took for granted that my skin would always stay young and elastic and that I wouldn’t have to worry about wrinkles or age spots. I was living in a bubble, let me tell you.

Fast forward to a couple dozen years later and I’m concentrating on my skin care on a daily basis. I don’t have a lot of money to waste, so I try to find products that will do it all. I especially pay close attention to the moisturizers I buy like my L’Oréal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer. I don’t want to change my appearance by having surgery, but I do want my true self to shine through and a good moisturizer allows that to happen.

Over the holidays I do a lot of entertaining. It’s what I look forward to most about the holidays. I try to add in some holiday traditions of days gone by when I entertain, but I also love to start new traditions. Over the holidays, there are times when I get to see loved ones who I haven’t seen since the previous holiday (who live far away) and some I see on a regular basis. No matter who I invite, and who I will see, I want to look my absolute best    as a hostess (and a diva).

While the past can be fun when I have ugly Christmas sweater parties (I can’t believe I ever thought the sweaters were stylish), I don’t want to have ugly skin. Times have changed and so has moisturizers. I believe I’ve found the perfect one, and best of all, it’s for all skin types and it absorbs quickly, it always feels lightweight even after wearing it for a few hours, and what I’m excited about the most, my skin looks and feels more resilient.

What skin care product do you use now that you didn’t buy as a young adult?

  1. Interesting! I cannot use the L’Oreal stuff because of my skin issues. When I was young, I used that product before until I noticed that my skin got lots of rashes. So my doctor advised me not to use this product anymore. I have sensitive skin with another product I feel comfortable. Thank you for sharing :-)

  2. I have read a lot of positive reviews from satisfied users of L’Oreal Age Perfect Moisturizing Cream. Although I have not tried it yet, I think it is a great product to have. I will get this and start taking better care of my skin. I don’t want to be wrinkled before my time!

  3. have really sensitive skin, so I’m always leery about putting new creams on my face, but if I wasn’t would definitely give this a try. I have used Avon for over 15 years and it works well with my skin.
