Vintage Retro Soda Fountains in Ohio
I live in a small town in Georgia and it’s where I grew up and where I knew I wanted to raise my own kids. I understand that small towns aren’t for everyone. After all, everyone knows everyone else and there’s little that goes on that everyone doesn’t know about especially when everyone had a party line growing up in this area. But there are a lot of pluses to that too. I live in a town that cares. This town pulls together when anyone needs anything, whether it be housing or help with farming just to name a couple of instances. It’s not Mayberry but it’s a close second.
My hometown: A lot of these buildings are still in use today.
When I think of small towns, I think of vintage retro soda fountains, root beer floats, big hair, poodle skirts and black leather jackets. It was fun growing up during the era that I did. This year, I’m thinking about creating my very own vintage retro soda fountain so I can make the kids cherry Cokes, floats, sundaes, and malt shakes. I want them to experience the fun that I had growing up in a retro world, in the same way, that I did. Our drug store soda fountain is a thing of the past but we do have a painting of it downtown and every time I ride by it, I get nostalgic. The pharmacy is almost exactly as it was back then minus the soda fountain bar.
When it comes to vintage retro soda fountains, Ohio has some of the best vintage soda fountains in existence. For an all-time old fashioned shake, Ohio is where you want to be. One of my favourite soda fountains with a genuine authentic drug store soda fountain feel is the Aglamesis Soda Fountain in Cincinnati, OH.
Just in case you are experiencing a bit of nostalgia like me, I found some fun Vintage Retro Soda Fountain finds for you on Amazon.

First up is a Hamilton Beach 730C Classic DrinkMaster Drink Mixer which is guaranteed to handle anything you throw its way from malt shakes to vanilla cokes. This comes in different finish options but I’m in love with the chrome.
You’ve got to have something to put your floats and sundaes in so you might want to consider a set of Anchor Hocking Soda Glasses.
The Coca-cola Tin Collectible Drinking Straw Holder Dispenser With 50 Straws is such a cute addition to a retro-themed soda fountain table for parties or just for afternoon entertaining.
Of course, you’ll have to have somewhere to sit so you might want to serve your soda fountain goodies on a cute Retro 3-Piece Chrome Bar Stools and Table Set.
I’d love to hear about your hometown. What makes it special?
