I don’t know what it is about slime but the kids can’t get enough of it. It got to where we couldn’t go anywhere without buying ooey gooey slimy slime. After spending a fortune during our many slime trips to Walmart, I decided I wasn’t going to buy it anymore so I put it back on the shelf (I had some pouting kids on my hands) and I made up my mind that I could make it at home AND use all natural products in it. So that’s exactly what I did. After some trial and error, I created an all natural slime recipe, just like that. Fair warning it’s messy but the kids ended up loving it so much better because I could make gallons of it and of course when you have all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® on hand, the mess disappears in a flash. You can check all of the ingredients of the new detergent which are conveniently placed on the bottle for your convenience. all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® is one of the first laundry products to put ingredients out there for consumers to know what the ingredients are and why they’re essentials.
Are you ready to try my Whipped All-Natural Slime Recipe?
Ingredients:
Gel Food Coloring (optional)
Cornstarch
Cool Whip or Whipped Cream
Water
Other:
Bowl or bowls (we always make a couple of different colors)
Whisk or spoon
Kids
Washing Machine
all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS®
You begin by mixing 2 parts cornstarch to 1 part water (example 2 cups of corn starch and 1 cup of water). Mix, mix, mix.
Add gel food coloring color of choice. The darker you want it requires more food coloring.
We take our slime one step further by adding either a tub of cool whip or a whole lot of whipped topping. Mix as above and add the cool whip or whipped topping to the slime mixture.
It gives it more substance and a better texture to really get into play time.
I love to encourage learning and discovery indoors and outdoors. I let the kids play with the slime indoors on rainy days and outdoors when it’s pretty out. They get messy as kids always do but like I mentioned in the beginning of my post, I rely on the NEW sulfate free all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® at Walmart to keep the kid’s clothes fresh and clean. I don’t mind messy activities because the NEW sulfate free all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® (will be available in select Walmart stores starting at the end of April) delivers a powerful clean without harshness and infuses fabrics with essential, proven and effective ingredients for deep cleaning and stain lifting even on the toughest stains (including slime).
Tip: I apply the detergent directly to tough stains, rub in, let it sit a few minutes then throw in with the rest of the load.
Walmart carries both fragrance-free and fresh scent in 36.4oz/28ld. You can find all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® on the top shelf in the laundry aisle.
Before you head out to make your own whipped all-natural slime I’ve got a wonderful saving for you. You can get $1.50 off one (1) all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® from May 1 – July 31 or while supplies last from this digital coupon. Just look for the laundry department isle in select Walmarts to find the pretty new blue bottles.

During the summer slime is always something we make several times. Everyone always wants to have their own color. Kids even help make it now they are older. Make a batch of every color and send them outside. The fun will happen.
I am totally doing this! I have the kids home for summer break starting tomorrow and really need stuff to keep us entertained.
Making things like this at home is always so much fun. I used to make playdough for the kids, but i’ve never made slime. Now they’re old enough to make their own if they want lol.
We call that Oobleck in our house and we make it ALL THE TIME. My kids love playing around with it 🙂
