If you love vintage wood toys for your kids as much as I do, you’re going to fall in love with the boho feel of the Holiday Campervan, from Le Toy Van. When I look for toys, I look for toys that make the kids use their imagination. I grew up with Lincoln Logs, Easy-Bake Ovens and Lite-Brites to name a few and to this day, I think using my imagination growing up, helped me in all areas of life. We didn’t have a computer, cell phone, or tablets. We were the all American family growing up during an era before technology took over.
Giving my kids things that I enjoyed as a kid makes me feel that even though we are an evolving family, I allow the kids to have devices of today’s time but I also still, and always will, buy them toys that I think will help them in life as they did me. I believe the classic toys are a better choice to learn problem solving skills and they encourage them to learn. That’s why I was excited to find Le Toy Van when I was looking for toys for an upcoming Birthday. Because the toys are made of wood, they can be passed down to their own children one day, unlike a lot of plastic toys that don’t last beyond their first year. I’d give anything to have had my childhood toys to pass down to my own children (house fire destroyed them all).
Back to the Holiday Campervan. It quickly became a favorite around here, not just with my kids but with the neighborhood kids as well. It brought back a lot of childhood memories for me. We used to go camping almost every weekend when my siblings and I were children. Sometimes we’d stay on a houseboat and sometimes we’d camp out in tents. And guess what? We always had a VW similar to this toy when I was a child.
