3 Tips To Go The Extra Mile When Wrapping Gifts

3 Tips To Go The Extra Mile When Wrapping Gifts

You can tell a lot about a person from how they wrap gifts. If you get a gift that’s in tatty wrapping paper – or worse, not wrapped at all – then you know this person hasn’t given the gift a lot of thought. It screams of someone who’s forgotten they needed to get you a gift and got the first thing they could find.

When you receive gifts like this, how does it make you feel? You feel a bit let down, which is why you don’t want anyone to feel the same way when it’s your turn to give a gift! Take a look at the three tips below and you’ll see how to go the extra mile when wrapping gifts. Whether you’re handing out Christmas gifts, birthday presents, anniversary gifts or anything else; these tips will show that you’ve made a massive effort, putting an instant smile on the receiver’s face.

Get Special Wrapping Paper

Instead of wrapping the gift in bland paper you found in a supermarket, consider getting something special. Find quality patterned paper that relates to the receiver or the occasion. For example, if it’s a Valentine’s/anniversary gift, wrapping the present in paper covered in hearts or cute things makes sense. If you know the recipient loves dogs, then finding wrapping paper with dogs on is a nice touch. You get the idea – special wrapping paper is a subtle touch but it shows you’ve thought more about this gift and the person than other people might.

Find A Good Gift Bag

There’s nothing “wrong” with handing over a present on its own in lovely wrapping paper. However, you can truly go the extra mile with a good gift bag. This is a bonus gift in itself – the receiver can use it to package gifts for someone else! Again, you want a quality bag that means something either to the person or the situation. It adds a touch of class to the gift and makes it feel more thought out and prestigious.

Make A Handwritten Note

You might give a card to the recipient with their gift, but there are times when cards aren’t necessary. In this case, you should make a little handwritten note on the gift tag. Adding a gift tag to the present is already a step in the right direction, but completing it with some personal words of affection seals the deal. It’s a chance for you to show your appreciation for the individual or write something funny for them to laugh at. The little note shows you’ve taken the time to think about the person, rather than just frantically wrapping a present and giving it to them.

As you move through these tips you realise something; going the extra mile is nowhere near as arduous as it seems. You don’t have to move mountains or spend loads of money to show someone you care about them. It’s the little things and the nice touches – like personalised notes or wrapping paper – that make a huge difference. Go the extra mile and be rewarded with a huge smile on your loved one’s face!
