So your other half has recently popped the question and now you are busy planning the wedding of your dreams. However, if you have never planned a wedding before then you may not know where to start. It is always a good idea to sit down with your future spouse and talk about wedding ideas, from where you want to get married to who is invited. You may not want the same things so it is all about compromise. Check out the list below to see what you need to make a priority when it comes to your big day.
Venue
One of the first things you will need to do is discuss dates and find a venue. Many people are now opting for destination weddings, due to weddings becoming so expensive in their home country. This is a wonderful idea and you can incorporate a holiday or honeymoon at the same resort. Speak to the resort or accommodation where you are going to be staying and see if they can accommodate your wedding there. If not, you could speak with other local venues to see if the dates line up.
A lot of popular venues will have wait lists, so be sure to get in as early as you can. Also, try to be flexible on dates as that will get you in a lot sooner.
Rings
Do you have the rings? This can be a fun trip out you can do together. It is much more exciting than shopping for engagement rings as you can try them on together and buy the ones you like. There are plenty of shops out there so make sure you shop around, you might really like one but then see another one. That will be a hard decision for you, make sure you know exactly which ones you want. If you want a super cute idea for the aisle then you could use your pet dog, if you have one, to hold the rings for you.
Entertainment
Lastly, what entertainment are you going to have at your wedding reception? Many people may be attending and it is down to you to keep them happy and entertained. This could be through the use of a DJ so they can all dance the night away, you might also want to hire a photo booth. These are incredibly popular these days as people can treasure the photos forever.
If you want to make a lasting impression then you could even host a turn-key drone light show. It could show you and your guests anything you can think of, or leave it to the experts to think of something to do for you. Check out companies and prices to ensure this fits into your wedding budget
We do hope you found this article helpful and now feel more equipped at handling the planning of your big day. Remember, one person’s idea of perfection may not match your ideas. This is okay, as long as you are happy.
