Retro Throwback Old Fashioned Toys For Christmas

If you’re looking for retro throwback old fashioned toys for Christmas, you’re at the right place.  Below you will find some of my most recent picks for my 2019 Kids Christmas Gift Guide.  One of my favorite things about these products is the fact that no batteries are needed.  Please click on any of the links to learn more and I’ve included links at the bottom of the post to make your retro Christmas shopping easier.

I’m going to jump right in and start with my first toy. I can remember the first spirograph set that I got for Christmas as clearly as it was yesterday. I had hours of fun with it and I wish I still had it. However, guess what I found online… Kahootz Spirograph® Retro Deluxe Set.  Now my own kids can create the amazing works of art that I did with their very own spirograph.  They will be able to spend their time creating all of the fun designs in different colors and shapes that I did as a child (and I love that it inspires them to put their tablets and phones down). This set makes them use their imagination and brings out their creative side.

We didn’t have all of the tech products back then that kids have access today so everything my parents (and Santa)  bought me and my siblings, were products that required using our imaginations. Like this Learning Resources Pretend & Play® Calculator Cash Register. We learned how to shop from a very young age by playing with a cash register complete with fake money.  My mom would gather up cans and boxes of food to play with and we would price everything, set up a pretend store and learn to use money and make change.  I believe by learning how to use the money that it helped teach me basic math. This set encourages math and calculator skills and includes a solar-powered calculator.

While shopping on Amazon for retro throwback toys, I also stumbled upon the HOYLE 6 in 1 Fun Pack set that is going to come in handy for traveling during the holidays. I’m planning to use the cards as stocking stuffers or as some call it, stocking fillers.  My sisters and I used to play Old Maid and Go Fish so often that our cards were almost paper-thin from handling them so often, lol.  Games included in this handy 6 in 1 fun pack are a throwback to all of our childhood favorites:, Go Fish, Memory, Old maid, Crazy Eights, Slap Jack, and Matching.

Another item for my throwback retro post is the Highlights Farm Puzzles with hidden pictures.  The kids love anything to do with animals soI knew it was something the kids would enjoy playing with. I’m always looking for ways to spark their imagination when it comes to books. Puzzles are a great way to make kids think and because they love hidden object games on their devices, I love that I’m able to provide them with the kind of fun they like, in an offline way as well. Included in each book are more than 100 hidden picture puzzles, 1.200 hidden plus hours of fun spent on the puzzle farm.

My last suggestion is a Cinemood Portable Movie Theater for finger shadows and movies.  I won’t go into a lot of detail in this post because I’ve created a post just for this product.  Check out my review by clicking on my link.
