I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “you are what you eat’ numerous times. You must have watched the tons of ads that encourage people to make better food choices, and you probably even signed up for a gym once. But, have you ever thought of how your diet impacts your work? Physical performance
Different tasks require a different level of performance. A construction worker needs stamina, and a researcher needs concentration. A model, on the other hand, needs energy because they move a lot. Whether you are modeling in Oxford or any other part of the world, your diet will play a role in how well you perform at your job. Have healthy snacks such as nuts or blueberries in between shoots. Fruits and veggies also keep your skin healthy and glowing, which is vital. Experts have concluded that if you starve yourself, you are likely to have fatigue, be slower and concentrate less on your work. Nobody wants to work with a tired, unfocused model.

Mood swings
Have you ever observed your behavior or that of others before, during, and after a meal? You must have noticed the considerable difference in moods. Someone irritable suddenly becomes pleasant to deal with after a hearty meal. When you are hungry, your blood sugar drops, which makes you feel moody and depressed. Eat regularly and choose foods that boost your energy and to keep your sugar levels steady. Start your day by eating healthy breakfast and avoid foods full of sugar, such as sweets, biscuits, and sugary drinks. A heavy lunch is also not advisable because it makes you feel tired and lazy in the afternoon. Instead, eat smaller portions during lunch, just enough to have the energy to work in the afternoon without feeling sleepy.

Improves cognitive performance
You will face different challenges at work, from deciding which tasks to set as priorities to dealing with colleagues and making sales decisions. These decisions need you to have excellent cognitive performance. Take advantage of foods that keep your brain healthy. For instance, fatty fish such as salmon, trout, and sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to help the brain remain sharp. Your favorite cup of coffee is also excellent for your mind when not overused. Coffee contains caffeine and antioxidants, which increases alertness, sharpness concentration, and improves your mood. Blueberries, turmeric, broccoli, pumpkin seed, and dark chocolate are also great for your brain.
Keep in mind that different people have different diets. An athlete has a different diet from a construction worker or model. Find what works for your profession and stick to it. This does not mean, however, that you should only eat healthily because of your career. What you eat also determines your quality of life.
