If there’s one thing you probably already know about me based on previous posts, it’s that I love to go camping and glamping. I don’t even have a preference. I just love being outdoors with nature. I have fond memories of camping as a child and we’d even take the houseboat out for weeks at a time. I grew up with an appreciation of the great outdoors and it was something I knew I wanted to pass on to my kids.
Although I don’t have a preference with it comes to camping and roughing it or glamping and being a little more comfortable, I do have a preference in my camping gear. I want the best because I don’t want to deal with issues that can pop up with items not working, or breaking or anything else that can cause a great trip to turn into a not so great trip. That’s why I prefer Montem outdoor gear and clothing.
I received a camping blanket and a daypack for hiking from Montem for review purposes and I set about giving them the durability test that all my products have to go to before I take them camping or glamping. I didn’t have anything to worry about when it came to the products, it’s no wonder that they were featured in Backpacker Magazine / NY Times / Clever Hiker.
I use a sleeping bag sometimes but it depends on the weather really. Unless it’s really cold, I prefer a camping blanket. I can sling it off of me if it’s warm out or cuddle down under it if the nights turn cold. IMO a camping blanket is a must have for anyone that goes camping and glamping. And plus they’re fun to snuggle under on rainy cold days indoors as well. My new Montem Sneaky Snuggler Blanket is perfect for any season and it will be used often. My only complaint with this blanket is that it took a bit of an effort to get it back in the bag the first time I tried. I thought I was going to have to buy a larger bag for it but once I got the hang of it, I’ve become a pro at it. If you have any issues trying to fold yours, use my tips to make it a breeze. Lay it out on a clean, dry surface, fold it in half lengthwise, then start rolling it tightly. It’s a puffy blanket (and a slippery little sucker) so you need to put your weight on it while you’re rolling it. Then slide the bottom of the roll into the bag and wiggle it down until it’s completely covered. This blanket is well worth the $149 price tag, however, they’ve lowered the price, even more, so you just have to pay $89 while the sale lasts.
Because of my back problems, my backpacks have to be lightweight. Super lightweight at that. The Luxe Ultra-Light Packable 12L Backpack from Montem Life provides the space I need to take everything along for a day of hiking in a lightweight pack that is suitable to my back. There’s a space for everything and adjustable straps so anyone can use this really. It will hold food, drinks, change of clothing, shoes, a lantern, pretty much anything you’d need on a day hike. I can’t think of a single thing I don’t like about my daypack. These run $29.99 but for now, they’re on sale for $19.99 to give each of you a chance to try them at a remarkable price.
