Use your teeth only for eating

At first glance, this looks like very obvious advice. But it is not uncommon to see people use their teeth as tools to say pull tags off clothing or open up a Coca-Cola bottle. Using your teeth as a tool for anything other than chewing and biting food can damage your crowns. It can also cause chippings and cracks. 

Instead of using your teeth, use actual tools like a bottle opener, scissors or pliers. In a weird way, this also contributes to your dental health. 

Firm and Crisp food cleans your teeth

Some people call this type of food, ‘detergent foods.” They include raw carrots, celery, popcorn, apples, and so on. These foods clean your teeth as you eat them. By munching on these foods, saliva production increases. Thus, protecting your teeth from decay. 

The best time to eat detergent foods is after or in between meals. 

Avoid taking food or drinks that stain your teeth
