I got some new spices to share and I can’t wait because I know you’re going to love the latest brand I’ve been geeking out over; A Cajun Life. I’m a spice cooker and I always have been. I don’t like bland food and I don’t like to serve bland food. I spend the majority of my time at the grocery store, browsing through their spices and I’m going to share a secret with you. I have so many spices, that I had to buy a wood panty to put in my coat closet to store most of them in. And it’s full. And so are my cupboards. We all have our vices and spices are mine.

Over the weekend I baked a turkey breast using A Cajun Life Blackening Rub and before I could get any photos of the finished product, we’d eaten every last bite of it. After having to smell it baking, it was just too much for us. I can’t recall ever smelling an aroma that all of us, enjoyed more. I’ve never seen the kids walk to the kitchen so many times before waiting for dinner to be finished. It was like if they walked to the oven a dozen times, the meal would finish sooner. It did not and I also got my exercise in because I walked to the kitchen as much as they did.

I’ve tried A Cajun Life before but it was at my sister’s home when she lived in Lousiana. For whatever reason, I had forgotten all about how much I love their Jambalaya and Red Beans and Rice box mixes. I’ve yet to try their Gumbo mix but I will. I’m sharing this brand for a reason. We all have those foodies on our gift giving list (like myself) who loves getting foodstuff for Christmas. I’d rather have foodstuff than jewelry and just about anything else because I love to cook. I spend the majority of every single day, in my tiny kitchen, creating and cooking foods with love, for my family. I enjoy it, I love good food, and I know that there is someone on your holiday gift giving list that does as well.
