Meet Dr. DeLaney
While still a med student at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. DeLaney got intrigued by pain management. During her anesthesiology rotation, she was acquainted with this sub-specialty and was fascinated by the physicians’ capability to execute nerve blocks to relieve pain, which people had previously had no alternative but to bear for their entire lives.
Those physicians could immediately and dramatically heal the agony of their clients, and they motivated Dr. DeLaney to do as well. At this juncture, she chose to pursue an anesthesiology residency and work as a pain management expert.
Dr. DeLaney completed her anesthesiology and emergency medicine training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Johns Hopkins Hospital remains the world’s best training facility. Besides understanding detailed intraoperative anesthesiology, physiology, and pharmacology, she learned about chronic and acute pain and collaborated with some of the leaders in pain management when conducting electives there.
Dr. DeLaney, after that, picked The Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, for her official pain management education in interventional pain medicine. The Cleveland Clinic is globally recognized and the nation’s leading institution for the management of chronic pain. Dr. DeLaney focused her fellowship on understanding how to care for patients with hidden pain through medication management, injectable techniques, physical therapy, and integrating psychology into a strategy that will also allow individuals to improve life quality.
Dr. DeLaney began her career at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia as a properly educated pain management physician. She rose to the status of Assistant Professor while maintaining a thriving pain management clinic, which included the treatment of all chronic and acute pain conditions. Dr. DeLaney was also in charge of training fellows, residents, and medical students on chronic pain and effectively managing it.
Dr. DeLaney is board-certified in both chronic anesthesiology and pain management and has authored numerous articles on the subject. She remains to provide pain management talks at national and regional medical conventions.
