How to Create the Perfect Winter Make-up Look

Winter is just around the corner, the nights are drawing in, there’s a chill in the air, and you want to find that one make-up look that accentuates your features and matches the weather outside.

The warm, dewy make-up looks of summer and spring are out. It’s time for something new that appeals to frost-glazed mornings and snuggled up winter nights. To help your make-up regime transition from the summer to the winter, follow these handy tips!

  1. Eyes

Eyes are arguably the most important part of any make-up look, and this is because the first thing people notice about another person is their eyes. In the summer, you may have opted for a more natural look, but the time for subtly is over.

For eyeshadow colors, think blue and silver that shines like ice; these colors will work particularly well for brown eyes. Eyeshadow that has a glimmer to it is perfect for adding some sparkle to cold winter days.

To top it all off, try your hand at some black eyeliner. Dark eyeliner makes your eyes pop!

  1. Skin

Winter can be especially harsh for your skin. The weather is often cold and sharp, which can dry out your skin. Moisturizing your skin before you apply any make-up to it will help it smooth out and combat the brutal winter weather. If you’re not sure what moisturizer to use, or you simply want to find one that works better for your skin, check out discount cosmetics to find a great moisturizer that doesn’t come at a price.

Foundation, as the name suggests, is the foundation of your look. That being said, you do not want to go overboard. Find a foundation that matches your skin perfectly. Most people’s skin pales during the winter because of the lack of daylight hours, so you may want to invest in a shade that is slightly paler than the color you used during the summer.

  1. Eyebrows

Eyebrows stay the same near enough year-round. Your usual eyebrow routine will be enough to emphasize this look!

  1. Lips

Just like your skin, the cold weather can make your lips chapped, so make sure you always apply a layer of Chapstick before you apply anything else! Keep a tube spare in your handbag, too.

Your lips are another place where you can pop some color into your look. Beautiful berry reds, similar to the color of holly, are a gorgeous way to bring color to a winter make-up look. The vibrancy contrasts the silver and blue of the eyeshadow and makes a stunning finish.

  1. Highlight

Lips may have been the finishing touch of the past, but now it is the highlight. Apply subtle white highlight to your cheekbones, brow bone, and the tip of your nose. This will give your skin a glow that completely bypasses the dreariness of winter.

You can personalize your winter make-up look however you like; add your favorite lipstick or go-to foundation, and you’ll be ready to take on the winter weather in style.
