It isn’t a surprise that the pollution in the air and the environment has made it into our bodies too. We have metals in our bodies in trace amounts which are necessary for the body to function. The problem arises when the quantity of heavy metal goes above the comfortable mark. Too many heavy metals in the body are toxic.

How do you know you may have heavy metals in your body?

The effects of heavy metals has a very adverse impact on the body and it you feel under the weather, there’s a possibility that you need a heavy metal detox. If you have symptoms like chronic fatigue, depression, autoimmune diseases, brain fog, dementia and chronic aches and pains, you might need to get yourself checked for heavy metals in the body.

How do these metals get in our body?

Contaminated water and food are the main causes of toxic metals. Factories and industrial waste around human settlements can cause lead and arsenic poisoning in the people around.

We don’t realize this but a lot of things in our houses because our environment harm too. Batteries, steel, alloys are extremely toxic too.

Neurological disorders like an early onset of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s could be because of elevated levels of heavy metals in the body.

The good news is that you can naturally do a heavy metal detox from time to time. Even if your medical reports are normal, you can include detoxifying elements in your diet.

  1. Diet

Eat a lot of green salads, juices, soups and smoothies to expel toxins from the body. These foods are healthy and have plenty of fiber to help eliminate contamination. They also balance the acids from harmful foods and hydrate the body.

     2.  Infrared Sauna

Saunas are meant to make you sweat out the toxins from the body and infrared sauna goes one step further. The infrared rays penetrate deep into the skin and tissues to expel even the toxins that are deep within the skin. The heat from the sauna effectively makes you sweat out these toxins.

  1. Cilantro

Cilantro or coriander is a natural chelation agent. You can include it in your diet by adding it to your juices and smoothies. One fresh bunch of cilantro in your diet daily will naturally detoxify your body.

  1. Chlorella

Chlorella is an algae that grows in water. It is full of chlorophyll and detoxifies the body by binding itself to toxins and hence, eliminating them from the body. Chlorella also cleanses the blood and promotes oxygenation.

  1. Digestive system

Regularly cleanse your digestive tract with deworming medicines and a fiber-rich diet. Don’t forget to make a regular visit to your doctor to get your regular checkups done.

Now, with rising awareness, it is not difficult to equip yourself with the knowledge of heavy metals. It is not a very widely stated fact but contamination by heavy metals does happen even if you haven’t expressly consumed toxic food. Take care of yourself with good fresh food and keep yourself hydrated.

  1. Recently I have started focusing on my health and trying to lose weight. I didn’t know cilantro can be used for detox. I will start adding it to some of my salads.

  2. I already love cilantro so much and I had no idea that it would help to detox the body! That’s incredible!

  3. These are great ways to help with toxins. I have an auto-immune disease called Nodular Vasculitis. I have already done several of these things to help, but there are a few I haven’t tried yet.
