1. Mismatched Earrings
Let’s face it: in a time where almost all social interactions outside of shopping for essentials have been replaced with Zoom calls and Facetime, we’re focusing on the jewelry that our friends and coworkers can see.

Statement earrings have been one of the top trending jewelry options for years, and the mismatched earring trend came back around 2018. It’s still going strong, though.
For this, you can do several things. You can match two large and bold pieces, two small and dainty pieces, or our favorite: one bold and one dainty piece.
We love a statement earring on one side and a stud or small hoop on the other. The imbalance works.
2. Layered Necklaces
Layered necklaces are also back with a vengeance in 2021. There are plenty of ways to make this look your own, and if you have the right pieces you don’t have to go shopping.
You want to make sure that your necklaces have a similar color story, but they don’t have to be the same. You want necklaces of different lengths so you can get the most out of the layered look.
We suggest one tight choker necklace, one that rests on your collarbone, and one that falls where a v-neck top would.
It’s a look that’s both sophisticated and carefree, and you get to show off several of your favorite pieces at once.
3. Pearls
Pearls aren’t only for your grandmother anymore.
The pearl trend started back up a few years ago, but people are hanging onto those shiny little sea gems in 2021.
Pearls are great for everything. You can opt for the stereotypical flapper look and wear them in a long beaded necklace, but we suggest pearl earrings and a subtle pearl ring.
Pearls are great additions to any wardrobe. They’re classic, meaning that they won’t ever truly go out of style. Because they’re white, they fit any outfit, and the subtle iridescence gives you the shine and sparkle you want from a jewelry piece.
4. Stacked Rings
Stacked rings aren’t going away anytime soon.
There are several ways to stack rings. You can have them in a literal stack on one finger. This works well with bands that don’t take up too much space.
Alternatively, you can put rings on different fingers and have them rest at different heights. Buy rings in different sizes that are smaller than your normal ring size. Then you can put them on any of your other knuckles.
For stacked rings, we love cohesive looks. Pick your favorite shade of gold for all of your rings for a subtle and well put-together set of jewelry.
5. Statement Rings
Speaking of rings, statement rings are in.
What’s a statement ring? It’s a ring that draws the eye. These rings are large, loud, and fun, and you’re not limited by sophistication or subtlety.
Some people find statement jewelry gaudy, but we disagree. What good is accessorizing if you can’t have fun with it?
That said, you shouldn’t overdo the statement rings. One is enough for an outfit, and the rest of the outfit should be built around the ring. You can use a statement ring in addition to the stacked rings as well.
Having one bold ring amongst a group of subtle rings is a great way to add more pizazz to your style.
6. Bold Pendants
Speaking of statements, bold pendants are coming back in 2021.
While statement necklaces have been back for a while, they were often larger than life, relying on shapes within the necklace instead of the pendants.
You can include plenty of things in your pendant choices. Your personal style will dictate which pendants are right for you.
We love the idea of bold shark teeth, meteorite, or polished wood if you’re planning on going with a natural look. Large lockets are another great option.
Don’t feel limited based on our suggestions. As long as your pendant is large, it goes with the trend. Try out a few different styles until you find the right pendant for you.
7. Thick Chains
Dainty chains are great for necklaces with large pendants, but they’re not the only way to stay trendy in 2021.
Thick chains are in. You want to see the chain links and the necklace should have some weight to it. The chains aren’t just thick by jewelry standards; they compete with normal, functional chains.
These necklaces don’t need pendants to make a statement. They look industrial and powerful, and they’re a great addition to any sleek outfit to add something “different” to the mix.
Don’t get hung up on what is and isn’t “feminine.” Try out a thick chain necklace and see if it works for you.
