I recently had the opportunity to review a Hasbro Joy For All Companion Pet Pup and a Hasbro Joy For All Companion Pet Cat. These plush pets are such a great idea to give to young or old alike. I wish I had had one to give to my DIL’s grandfather when he was diagnosed with dementia. I think it would have caused unspeakable joy for him because he always had pets prior to his move to the nursing home.
I have an aunt who has had quite a few health issues and is currently living alone. She loves dogs almost more than I do and that’s a lot. I’ve always had a dog. I can’t think of a time when I didn’t have one. Even as a young child, I always had a dog. The same is true of my aunt. Aunt Shirley isn’t able to care for a pet during this phase in her life. Due to complications with her health, she’s having trouble just making it through each day caring for herself. I’m sure you can imagine that even though she has visiting nurses coming in every day, she gets lonely. She misses the companionship of a dog.
I recently had the opportunity to gift Aunt Shirley with a Joy For All Companion Pet Dog. She got all teary eyed. I got all teary eyed. Tears of joy were flowing folks. We shared a special moment that I’ll always remember. Having a companion pet has been the perfect solution for her. I’ve yet to see her without her new dog. It’s always in her lap and she’s able to cuddle and pet it like she would a living, breathing dog. It’s so realistic looking that even the fur feels just like a real pet. The built-in sensors respond when she pets her dog and even when she moves. The companion pets can be turned off but Aunt Shirley keeps hers on day and night. And yes, she sleeps with her companion pet just as she did all of her previous dogs.
Hasbro’s Joy For All Companion Pet Pup responds to voices with adorable pup-like sounds thanks to built in BarkBack™ technology and will look toward you when you speak to it.” It doesn’t get any more realistic than that, except she doesn’t have to worry about taking him out to potty. She doesn’t have to feed or bathe her companion pet so she can focus on her health issues and making it through this setback and hurdle in her life. And best of all, she said she loves that she doesn’t have to vacuum up pet hair daily as she’s always had to in the past.
Abby (granddaughter) has claimed the companion cat I received. She’s an only child and that can get really lonely for her. While her mom is cooking and cleaning, she has to spend time entertaining herself. She loves that her Hasbro’s Joy For All Companion Pet Cat responds to her petting and hugging, much like a real cat would do and it responds to her motion just like aunt Shirley’s dog does. Her companion cat has a special purring technology which further enhances her pet’s life-like qualities. Abby is too young to care for her own pet yet so the companion pet is a great way to introduce her to having a pet while provide her with companionship. She’s so adorable reading to her cat.
The companion pets are so realistic, I was even able to fool Peanut with them.
Companion pets are wonderful gifts for anyone ages 5 to 105!. They’re especially great for the elderly who has Alzheimer’s or dementia. Or even if they are noticeably withdrawing from depression. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t perk up when receiving a cat or a dog for a gift.

Do you know anyone who would benefit from having a companion pet? I’d love to hear about them in a comment.
