There may be times in your life when you don’t want to get out of bed in the mornings. You may find that staying on the sofa all day binging on Netflix and nachos to be a much more appealing prospect than going to work. You are not alone if you have struggled to find the lift that you need in life to keep you powering on through. Your motivation is transient, and it can leave you in an instant. Even the most seemingly driven people have off days, and from time-to-time, we all need to give ourselves a bit of a pep talk to get going again. 

But if you find that you are in a rut more than on the track, or if you are in the doldrums and can’t seem to get the wind behind your sails, there are some simple things that you can do in your everyday life that can help you immensely.

There are a host of apps available for smartphones that help you find the motivation that you may be lacking. There may be community answers to problems that you may be facing, and by resetting the way that you think, and changing some simple things within your life, you can start to feel more enthused with life. The key to finding your motivation is by building up slowly and starting small. By using these apps to prompt you to complete a few basic, but life-changing goals, then you will find that you can begin to achieve whatever you set your mind to. 

Reignite The Flame

The chances are that the thing that you are burying your head in the sand in avoidance of is something that you once really loved. It may be a career that you chose, which has lost its shine. It could be that your studies have become a bit of a drag because the way that the subject that you love is assessed takes the fun out of it. Maybe it’s a pastime or a sport that you have always really engaged with, which has somehow become disinteresting to you. 

It’s natural to lose magic over time. It happens with most things in life. You won’t be the first to feel it, and you won’t be the last. But finding your way back to feeling great about something can be tricky. It is, however, not impossible. 

Think back about the things that inspired you to do it in the first place. Look back at anything that you have that reminds you of those times. Maybe it’s photos, a journal; perhaps you have some things from that time that you can read. Find something that sparks that positive memory for you. Then, try your best to hold that thought, Meditate on it. 

Reminding yourself why you fell in love with something is one of the best ways of rekindling your enthusiasm for it. If you can find others to talk to about it in a passionate way, then maybe it will make you want to get back on do that thing as soon as possible. 

Practice Self Care

There are many ways to practice self-care. It can be hard to love yourself when you are not feeling inspired with life. But you must try to do your best. You deserve to feel good about yourself, and you need to do everything you can to help yourself do just that. 

Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and veg is a fantastic way of getting your essential vitamins and minerals. Having regular, healthy meals will give you plenty of energy and will keep you fighting-fit. This will stop you getting run-down, and will help you fight off depression. 

Exercise is another essential aspect of self-care. While it can be hard to push yourself to do these things when you are not feeling one hundred percent, if you try to find something that you can enjoy, this will help. Make everything as much fun as possible, and don’t allow it to become a chore. 

Keep A Positivity Journal

Recording everything good that happens in your life will help you to feel more positive about everything. Getting into the habit of thinking about the best of every situation will mean that you start seeing the silver linings. Looking on the bright side of life will help you find the peace of mind that you need to get going and achieve results.
