I swing back and forth between Shabby Chic and Boho Chic and just recently I’ve decided that Shabby Chic Boho is the way to go. Especially when it comes to my bedding and all home decor.
Before we go any further, open your mind up to the fact that flannel sheets are not just for winter.
It’s spring and that’s normally the time when I buy new sheets and change up my colors in my room. Because I bought a couple of new bedding sets when I moved in, I’ve been using them all alternately: when I wash one, I put on a different one until next time. I didn’t really have a sheet set that would match a couple of my bedding sets so I thought it was time to find a shabby chic, boho chic, color and style. I decided on flannel sheets this time because I freeze in the summer. My AC vent is over my bed and it’s colder in my bedroom, in the summer, than it is in the winter. I’m not complaining because it makes for a great nights sleep, but when I get cold, my back aches like crazy.
I have quite a few sheet sets that I need to drop off at Habitat for Humanity because they are like new but they don’t match anything I have. And goodness knows I use too much Simply Shabby Chic pinks so I wanted a completely different color sheet set.
My pinks… I’m a messy sleeper due to back pain and muscle spasms from back injuries: SP failed back surgery.
For my spring colors (I’m all about orange this year), I wanted a light brown Heavyweight 4-Piece Cotton Flannel Sheet Set. I know some of you are thinking these might work better in the fall but I don’t follow any set of rules. If I like it, I like it. And when it comes to my new sheets, I love the color and that’s enough for me.
I have a queen size bed so I ordered queen size. The sheets are made with 100% cotton flannel. Included is one queen size fitted sheet, one queen size flat sheet and two queen size pillow cases.
The bottom sheet fits amazingly well. They weren’t stingy with the size. It covers my entire mattress.
I wish you could feel how soft they are.
The color is perfect. I think I did a great job of picking it out.
The end results are a shabby chic boho look which was what I was aiming for. I generally throw one of my Sarongs across the top for that just messed up look.
As you do your spring cleaning, don’t forget to replace your sheets with fresh new ones. Have you ever used flannel sheets and if so, what is your perception of them?
